British Museum - A Favourite London Place To See
April 12th 2008 16:16
The Brits have collected beautiful, famous, interesting, historic and occasionally bizarre items from all over the world. Many of them can be seen at the British Museum.
Where
Great Russell Street in Bloomsbury, close to Russell Square. For walkers, it is an interesting stroll from Trafalgar Square, but if you are pressed for time, take the tube or bus.
Tube
Closest is Russell Square on the PIccadilly Line.
Next nearest is Tottenham Court Road on the Northern and Central Lines.
There are street signs pointing the way to the Museum.
London A to Z Reference E6 142.
Main Attractions
Where to begin! The British Museum has something for everyone. My personal favourites are the somewhat contested Parthenon Marbles / Elgin Marbles. The Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies, and the Portland Vase are well-loved highlights.
The Museum offers guided tours, audio guides, guide books - anything to make a short or lengthy visit worthwhile.
Food, Drink, Restrooms & Shop
The renovated Great Court has casual self-serve food and restrooms.
Shops stock souvenirs and a wide selection of books ranging from popular to scholarly.
Admission is free, donations are welcome.

He'll probably emerge again soon, seeing what he can pinch from your site, not to worry tho, he always bungles things so you've nothing much to worry about and it does help the votes, you know.

Katy, you are always welcome in your own right, not just as the Fobster's stand in.
I try my hardest to give him top paying keyword suggestions, it's the least I can do for such a distinguished gent. I wonder if he needs a mesothelioma attorney? Hope not!
Cheers

It's not in my back yard anymore (alas) but always on my list of places to visit whenever I get back to London. So much to see!
