Squirrel Boldness in Holland Park
October 21st 2008 03:56
It was around about this time of year (October) way back in 1991 when we made our first family outing to Holland Park.
Holland Park is a pleasant piece of green sometimes seen on the English TV show As Time Goes By. It's one of those spots you can pop into and feel the city melt away behind the leafy screens.
We sat on a bench, the four of us, sharing sandwiches. Then... how shall I explain this... a squirrel went for my husband's throat!
It was the funniest thing I've seen in years. I guess there is a sandwich tax to be paid to the resident bushy-tailed rodents of Holland Park. No one told us.
